(1) Better comprehensive performance. Since there is no ideal plasticizer at present, the mixed use can take what is needed, cooperate with each other, weigh the advantages and disadvantages, and make the plastic have comprehensive performance. For example, in the formulation system where phthalate plasticizer is the main plasticizer, dioctyl phthalate is the main choice. A carbon chain smaller than octanol, such as dibutyl phthalate, although it has good compatibility, strong solubility and processability, but poor durability; a carbon chain larger than hexanol, such as decyl isophthalate, has good durability and high temperature resistance, but poor processability and compatibility. Dioctyl phthalate has good comprehensive properties. In order to improve low temperature resistance, among the existing low temperature resistant plasticizers, dioctyl sebacate is a better variety, and the suitable dosage is 5-10 parts. Poor compatibility, easy to ooze, and the dosage should not be too much.
In addition to good low temperature resistance, epoxy plasticizers also have weather resistance, which has a significant effect on improving the aging performance of PVC products. Especially when used in conjunction with metal soap stabilizers, it has a good synergistic effect. Oxyester has better low temperature resistance than epoxy soybean oil, but is easy to ooze out. The dosage is generally 3-5 parts. Plasticizers in typical agricultural film formulation systems should be coordinated as follows:
In the plasticizing formula with triisobutyl phosphate as the main body, triisobutyl phosphate has poor low temperature resistance, and low temperature plasticizers such as dioctyl sebacate need to be used.
(2) Reduce costs. Some auxiliary plasticizers are cheaper, but have poor compatibility and plasticizing efficiency. Mixing them with the main plasticizer can reduce costs without affecting product quality. For example, in cable materials, chlorinated paraffins have good electrical insulation and are inexpensive, and are used in combination with the main plasticizer, dioctyl phthalate.
As another example, in soles, hoses and other formulations, the main plasticizer alkylbenzene sulfonate can also replace part of dioctyl phthalate, and the general replacement amount is 1/3 of dioctyl phthalate.
