Calcium formate is an organic matter, the molecular formula is C2H2O4Ca, used as a feed additive, suitable for all kinds of animals, with acidification, anti-mildew, antibacterial and other effects, industry is also used in concrete, mortar additives, leather tanning or as a preservative.

Main application:

1. Calcium formate as a new feed additive. Using calcium formate as feed additive for piglets can promote appetite and reduce diarrhea rate of piglets. Adding 1% ~ 1.5% calcium formate to piglets diet can obviously improve the production performance of weaned piglets. A German study found that adding 1.3% calcium formate to the weaned piglets diet can improve the feed conversion rate by 7% to 8%, and adding 0.9% can reduce the occurrence of diarrhea in piglets.

2. Calcium formate is used in construction. Fast setting agent, lubricant and early strength agent for cement. Used in building mortar and various concrete, speed up the hardening speed of cement, shorten the setting time, especially in winter construction, to avoid low temperature setting speed is too slow. Fast demoulding, so that cement as soon as possible to improve strength put into use.

Calcium formate dosage and precautions: The amount of dry mortar and concrete per ton is about 0.5~1.0%, and the maximum addition amount is 2.5%. The amount of calcium formate is gradually increased with the decrease of temperature, and even if the amount of 0.3-0.5% is applied in summer, it will play a significant early strength effect.
